An Apron for Christmas

I've been busy working on some Christmas gifts and, because my family loves me and reads my blog often, I can't publish any post about them until after the holidays. I can share some other things I've been working on though.

One is an apron I've made for a family member for Christmas. I can only blog about it because she is probably more occupied with her boyfriend and college than the is her sister's blog. She just got a new job in a deli. Her clothes get wet while washing dishes and needs an apron that will keep her dry.

The apron I made for her didn't quite turn out the way I imagined but, hopefully, it will do. I made a detachable milkmaid-type apron in the front. I used what fabric I had on hand. I had purchased some iron on vinyl a while back and used that as well (for the first time!). Let me be the first to tell you that it is not east to work with and it's only 20 or 22" wide so you're limited to what you can do...but the end product is similar to oilcloth...sorta. Anyway, here are some pics of the apron.

Enjoy!
